A stay in Jesolo must include a trip to Venice, one of the wonders of the world, and if you have time, also to its beautiful islands. Venice is an extraordinary city of art, discover all its treasures: visiting St Mark’s Basilica, climbing the bell tower, waiting for the hour to strike in front of the clock tower or crossing the Rialto Bridge. Jesolo is an ideal starting point for visiting Venice. The islands of Burano, Murano and Torcello can also be reached from Treporti.
A city with three souls, ‘the Venetian shopping capital’ where it is still possible to find high-level shops strolling through the streets of the centre, a city of art with the beautiful Mura, Piazza dei Signori, the Loggia dei Cavalieri, the Duomo and the Palazzo dei Trecento, but also a ‘city of water’ with unforgettable views such as the Canale dei Buranelli, the island of Pescheria and the Restera.
For the incurable romantics there is the site of the love between Romeo and Juliet. If you love bel canto, there is nothing better than an evening at the Arena. If you like art history, you must visit Piazza Bra, the Palazzo della Gran Guardia, Piazza dei Signori, the Palazzo del Governo, the Roman Ponte di Pietra and the Roman Theatre.
The conspicuous interventions in it by the architect Andrea Palladio earned it the title of ‘city of Palladio’. A quest for harmony dominates Palladio’s designs, who designed 23 monuments in the historic centre and 16 villas in the province of Vicenza.
